This is not Odoo’s standard rental app. It is the Rent+ capability that equipment and event rental companies have relied on for years — serialised kit, sub-rental, duration-based pricing, cross-warehouse availability, crew and transport planning — running natively inside your Odoo database, alongside CRM, stock, projects and accounting.
How this differs from the standard Odoo Rental app
Odoo ships a rental app, and for straightforward period-based renting it does the job. The new Rent+ is for the operations that go well beyond that — the ones equipment and event rental companies actually run. This is proven Rent+ functionality, not a re-skin of the standard app.
Flexible kit composition
Build kits from individual items, break them apart, and substitute a component mid-hire. Availability, pricing and the pick list stay correct at every level, whether you rent the kit or its parts.
RFID, QR and barcode scanning
Scan kit out and back in using RFID, QR codes or barcodes — whichever suits the item and the warehouse. What comes back is checked against what actually went out, not against a memory.
Serialised equipment
Unit-level history for every item: where it has been, what condition it came back in, and what it has cost you to keep in service.
Sub-rental
Procurement and contracting when you hire in, with profitability visible per job rather than discovered at month end.
Duration-based pricing
Separate sales and rental price models, duration bands and a calculation engine, instead of one rate per period.
Cross-warehouse availability
One availability view across every location and entity, with traceability that follows the kit between them.
Picking, transfer and return
Warehouse workflows built for load-outs and returns, on handhelds, with condition capture at check-in.
